July 25th, 2023 – Following a run of 6 weeks, the annual Brendan Glacken tournament concluded last week with a fantastic BBQ.

This year the tournament proved more popular than ever with over 71 club members participating.

We managed five full nights of play with just one having been rained off half way through. However when the overall points were tallied, the winner of the beautiful Brendan Glackin trophy was Michael Scholfield.

Michael was presented with his trophy by John Foley, a former member, who for many years ran this tounament.

This year’s runner-up, Julie Mulvihill, was presented with the Brendan Glacken Plate by the club President Eimear McMahon.

Many thanks to all who helped out with social side of the event- the standard of “nibbles” got
higher every night! A special word of thanks to Mairead Weymes, event organiser, Imelda Martyn and Maura Gibbons for their valuable assistance and Brid and Billy Dunne for supporting throughout.
