Coaching plays a hugely important role in the club activities with regular coaching available for Senior players and a thriving Junior coaching programme. Through our range of coaching offerings, we aim to support you get the most of your game.
Well established within the Tennis coaching community and formally Head Coach of the Leinster under 12 and 16 squads, Rathgar Tennis Club was delighted to secure the services of Jamie Pilkington in 2017 where he continues to coach and develop our Juniors to their highest potential.
Accredited to ITF/Tennis Ireland Level 4, Jamie – along with his team of 4 assistant coaches and 3 hitters – has developed a full suite of coaching options for junior members including Tiny Tots, summer camps and elite level squad training.
Jamie also provides personalized and group coaching plans.
Jamie is additionally the Director of the annual Rathgar Junior Open, one of Ireland’s largest and most popular Junior events in addition to being a Director of the European Collegiate Tennis Association, the governing body for European University Tennis.

Initially recruited to assist in the coaching of our junior programme in 2019, Sean was appointed as the new Senior Adult Coach in Rathgar on a 3-year contract in May 2024.
An excellent player in his own right, Sean has won numerous events in Ireland from the age of 10 including Irish Junior opens and National indoor Championships in Singles, Mens, and Mixed doubles in addition to representing Ireland internationally at junior level to age 18.
A committed first team player for Rathgar in Winter and Floodlit league competitions, Sean has already made an impact in providing comprehensive coaching to DLTC League, Charity, Intermediate and Beginners groups.

Private Coaching is available Monday to Saturday inclusive during the day and in the evening.
Currently completing her studies to attain Level 2 Tennis Ireland coaching accreditation, Claire has been a support coach in Rathgar Tennis Club since 2022.
Claire is a valued member of the Junior section where she specialises in coaching the red-orange, green and yellow programme in addition to developing the players under our schools coaching programme.
A former Leinster Junior Interprovincial, Claire plays for the Club and actively competes on many Tennis Ireland approved tournaments throughout Leinster.
